Way of the Cross
The 14 Stations of the Cross were installed at the Hill of Crosses already at the end of the 19th century. Local residents would often follow them, especially in summer time. Today the pious practice of following the Way of the Cross has not been forgotten, even if variations of some details have been introduced: contemporary hymns increasingly replace the more traditional ones, excerpts from Holy Scripture are read, the Way of the Cross is sometimes made at night, and so on.
